East & Westbrook Construction served as the General Contractor and design-build partner for C&S Machine & Manufacturing’s new state-of-the-art facility in La Grange, Kentucky. Beginning with preconstruction through completion, our General Contracting team coordinated the people, schedules, systems, and construction required to transform the site into a modern manufacturing facility designed around the client’s operational needs and future growth. A major component of the project was its tilt-up concrete construction, providing an efficient solution for creating the large, durable building envelope the facility required.
The Project
The approximately 80,000-square-foot facility combines advanced manufacturing space with offices, employee areas, loading docks, and the infrastructure necessary to support C&S Machine & Manufacturing’s operations.
Tilt-Up Construction
Tilt-up construction played an important role in bringing the facility to life.
Concrete wall panels were formed and cast directly on site before being carefully lifted into position by crane. This method allowed the project team to efficiently construct the building's exterior while providing the durability and large-scale functionality needed for an advanced manufacturing environment. The project included approximately 39,000 square feet of solid and insulated tilt-up panels, demonstrating E&W’s ability to coordinate large-scale concrete and structural operations as part of a comprehensive General Contracting project.
Managing the Details
Beyond the building itself, the project required extensive coordination of specialized systems that directly support C&S Machine & Manufacturing’s production needs. E&W managed construction, permitting, scheduling, quality control, subcontractor coordination, and communication throughout the project. Close coordination between the owner, design partners, trade partners, and project team helped ensure each component of the facility worked together as intended.
