Safety is the foundation of our success at East & Westbrook.
Mindset + Action = Results
This year, we brought the Summit closer to home. The event was held at the YMCA in Buckner, KY, a facility built by East & Westbrook. In fact, our CEO, Jonathan Westbrook, helped build this very project years ago as a young worker in the field. Standing in a building that reflects both our company’s craftsmanship and our leadership’s roots in hands-on construction made this year’s message even more meaningful.

The 2026 theme challenged our team to think differently. Instead of focusing on working harder or simply pushing through, we emphasized using what we already know, our training, our experience, our skills, and our commitment to getting everyone home safe after every project. Mindset is about how we think. Through high-energy videos and testimonials from field team members, the morning session reinforced that mindset isn’t abstract; it’s practical. It shapes real-time decisions and sets the tone for the day.
From Mindset to Action
Of course, mindset alone isn’t enough. Action is where belief becomes behavior. During the Summit, Jonathan acknowledged team members for Good Catch reports, those proactive moments when someone identifies and corrects a potential hazard before it becomes an incident. These stories, shared through powerful video segments and heartfelt reflections, demonstrate how intentional actions protect lives. When mindset and action align, safety isn’t reactive, it’s preventive.
Recognizing Results.
We then focused on celebrating what happens when the formula works. We honored Core Value Award recipients and Good Catch Award winners, recognizing individuals who exemplify our culture. Team members gathered for a group photo, a powerful reminder that safety is a collective effort. Then we looked at the numbers.
2025 vs. 2024 Safety Performance
Our results show measurable improvement across key categories:
Vehicle Damage: 34 → 15
Property Damage: 31 → 28
Utility Damage: 9 → 1
First Aid Incidents: 12 → 11
Notice Only Incidents: 26 → 7
Recordable Incidents: 2 → 2

The significant reduction in vehicle damage, utility damage, and notice-only incidents reflects intentional improvement. While recordable incidents held steady, our commitment to zero remains unchanged. Results like these don’t happen by accident. They happen when individuals choose the right mindset and follow it with decisive action.
Looking Ahead: The Future of M+A=R
As Jonathan closed the Summit, he reminded the team that this formula extends beyond safety and construction. Mindset + Action = Results applies to professional growth, leadership development, client relationships, and personal life. It’s not about exerting more effort; it’s about applying the right effort in the right way. The final hype video sent the team out energized, unified, and focused on the year ahead. When we think differently, act intentionally, and hold ourselves accountable, the results follow. At E&W, our commitment to safety remains clear: Everyone goes home safely at the end of every day. In 2026, we’ll continue proving that with the right mindset and the right actions, the right results are inevitable.
